Village of Bensenville Board of Trustees Met Dec. 15.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

CALL TO ORDER: 1. President DeSimone called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.

ROLL CALL: 2. Upon roll call by Village Clerk, Nancy Quinn, the following Board Members were present:

President DeSimone*, Village Clerk, Nancy Quinn*, Carmona*, Franz* Frey*, Panicola*, Perez*

Absent: Lomax

A quorum was present.

Staff Present: E. Summers, S. Flynn*, J. McManus*, S. Viger* C. Williamsen

*Attended the meeting via electronic means.

PUBLIC COMMENT: There was no public comment.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES: 3. The November 17, 2020 Village Board Meeting minutes were presented.

Motion: Trustee Panicola made a motion to approve the minutes as presented. Trustee Frey seconded the motion.

ROLL CALL: AYES: Carmona, Franz, Frey, Panicola, Perez

NAYS: None

All were in favor. Motion carried.

WARRANT NO. 20/19: 4. President DeSimone presented Warrant No. 20/19 in the amount of $6,744,096.98.

Motion: Trustee Panicola made a motion to approve the warrants as presented. Trustee Frey the motion.

ROLL CALL: AYES: Carmona, Franz, Frey, Panicola, Perez

NAYS: None

Motion carried.

Ordinance No. 71-2020: 5. President DeSimone gave the summarization of the action contemplated in Ordinance No. 71-2020 entitled an Ordinance of the Village of Bensenville, DuPage and Cook Counties Illinois Approving a Fifty Percent Reduction in Liquor License Renewal Fees to Provide Economic Relief to the Business Community.

There were no questions from the Village Board.

Motion: Trustee Panicola made a motion to adopt the ordinance as presented. Trustee Frey seconded the motion.

NAYS: None

All were in favor. Motion carried.

Resolution No. R-124-2020: 6. President DeSimone gave the summarization of the action contemplated in Resolution No. R-124-2020 entitled a Resolution by the Bensenville Tax Consortium Authorizing Intervention in Property Tax Assessment Appeals.

There were no questions from the Village Board.

Motion: Trustee Panicola made a motion to approve the resolution as presented. Trustee Frey seconded the motion.

Ordinance No. 72-2020: 7. President DeSimone gave the summarization of the action contemplated in Ordinance No. 72-2020 entitled an Ordinance

Approving a Paved Parking Area Variation at 146 S. Mason Street.

Resolution No. R-125-2020: 8. President DeSimone gave the summarization of the action contemplated in Resolution No. R-125-2020 entitled a Resolution Authorizing a Contract with B & F Construction Code Services, Inc. for Plan Review and Inspectional Services.

Approving a Plat of Dedication of Property for the Purpose of Widening Eastview Avenue from Irving Park Road to Main Street.

Ordinance No. 74-2020: 10.President DeSimone gave the summarization of the action contemplated in Ordinance No. 74-2020 entitled an Ordinance Authorizing the Vacation of a Portion of Main Street near the Intersection of Main Street and Eastview Avenue.

Resolution No. R-126-2020: 11.President DeSimone gave the summarization of the action contemplated in Resolution No. R-126-2020 entitled a Resolution Establishing the Refuse, Recycling and Yard Waste Rates with Republic Services for the Village of Bensenville Effective January 1, 2021.

There were no questions from the Village Board.

Resolution No. R-127-2020: 12.President DeSimone gave the summarization of the action contemplated in Resolution No. R-127-2020 entitled a Resolution Authorizing a Settlement and Release Agreement with KMS Investments, LLC, for 2019 Hotel Tax Payment Arrearages.

There were no questions from the Village Board.

REMARKS:

Holiday Home

Decorating Contest

Winners: President DeSimone announced the Holiday Home Decorating Contest Winners: Second Place Winner – 452 South Mason Street; First Place Winner – 923 Dolores Drive.

President DeSimone announced there is a map available on the Village’s website that shows all the contestants for the Holiday Home Decorating Contest.

President DeSimone announced the annual Holiday Ice Show is scheduled to take place at the Edge Ice Arena on December 20th and all information can be found on the Village’s Website.

President DeSimone announced Village Staff has constructed the downtown Village Ice Rink and hopes cold weather is forth coming so Residents can enjoy the rink.

President DeSimone wished a safe and Happy Holiday to all Residents on behalf of himself, his family, the Village Board and Village Staff.

MANAGERS

REPORT: Village Manager, Evan Summers, announced V&A Health Care continues to offer COVID-19 testing by appointment only in Bensenville.

Mr. Summers announced vehicle stickers are now on sale and must be displayed by January 1, 2021.

Mr. Summers announced Village Hall will be closed December 24th, 25th, 26th, 31st, January 1st, 2nd in observation of Christmas and New Year Holidays.

VILLAGE ATTORNEY

REPORT: Village Attorney, Joe Montana, had no report.

UNFINISHED

BUSINESS: There was no unfinished business.

NEW BUSINESS: There was no new business.

EXECUTIVE

SESSION: Village Attorney, Joe Montana, stated there was not a need for Executive Session.

ADJOURNMENT: Trustee Panicola made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Trustee Frey seconded the motion.

All were in favor. Motion carried.

President DeSimone adjourned the meeting at 6:49 p.m.
