Police673

Naperville Police Department issued the following announcement on Dec 4.

The Naperville Police Department issued 29 seat belt citations during the recent Thanksgiving enforcement effort. Naperville Police Officers also arrested two individuals wanted on warrants and issued the following citations:

  • 5 suspended/revoked license citations
  • 6 uninsured motorist citations
  • 20 speeding citations
  • 8 distracted driving citations
  • 9 other traffic related citations
Law enforcement agencies throughout Illinois participated in this effort to reduce highway fatalities by getting more people buckled up. The enforcement campaign took place from Nov. 20 to 30.

The Thanksgiving enforcement effort is made possible by federal traffic safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation as part of the statewide Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over and Click It or Ticket campaigns.

The 77 citations were written by officers hired back using grant funds for this campaign and do not include citations written during this time by other Naperville officers.
