Naperville Police Department issued the following announcement on Nov. 16.
On Friday, Nov. 13, 2020 at approximately 3:11 p.m., the Naperville Police Department and the Naperville Fire Department responded to the area of Mill Street and Diehl Road for a vehicle crash involving injuries. A 2008 Black Audi driven by a 29-year-old male out of Chicago collided with a Silver 2008 Buick driven by an 18-year-old male out of Naperville. The driver of the Buick was ejected from the vehicle, and debris from the crash damaged an uninvolved vehicle and a nearby building. Preliminary investigation indicates that the driver of the Audi was turning left from westbound Diehl to go south on Mill but failed to yield to the Buick that was traveling eastbound on Diehl, causing the collision.
The driver of the Buick was transported to Edward Hospital with, at this time, non-life-threatening injuries. Mill Street and Diehl Road was closed, and traffic was rerouted until the roadway was reopened at approximately 6:32 p.m.
The driver of the Audi was cited on scene for failure to yield while turning left. The investigation into the crash is still ongoing, however.
Anyone with information regarding the accident is asked to contact Naperville Police Department’s Traffic Unit at 630-305-5477.
