City of Wood Dale Public Health, Safety, Judiciary and Ethics Committee met Sept. 24.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
The minutes of the September 13, 2020 meeting were approved as presented.
REPORT & RECOMMENDATION:
DISCUSSION OF INTERSECTION OPTIONS AT POTTER & SPRUCE
DISCUSSION:
Chief Vesta reported there were several incidents at this location with cars travelling eastbound and sliding into the residence at this corner. A stop sign was added in spring of 2020 and staff has continued to reexamine other potential options. He spoke with Robinson Engineering who presented some options and also steps that can be taken by Public Works staff regarding sign placement. The first recommendation is to move the “Stop Ahead” sign back to be 350’ prior to the sign. Staff will work with Public Works to address this recommendation. Chief Vesta reviewed all options from Robinson and discussion ensued regarding solutions and expense involved with each.
VOTE:
Ald. Messina made a motion, seconded by Ald. Jakab, to approve the installation of 3-4 boulders in the parkway. A roll call vote was taken, with the following results:
Ayes: Ald. Catalano, Jakab, Messina, Sorrentino, Susmarski, E. Wesley & Woods
Nays: None
Abstained: None
Motion: Carried
