City of Elmhurst issued the following announcement on July 24.
The City of Elmhurst is in the process of sandblasting, priming and painting fire hydrants in the city that are in need of cosmetic maintenance and color coding.
THE PROCESS: An area around the fire hydrant will be coned off and an enclosure will be used to sandblast, prime & paint each hydrant to ensure the area is clear of debris and will take 8 to 10 minutes per hydrant per task. Please refer to the attached project map of the streets and hydrants to be painted.
