Wood Dale Planning, Zoning & Building Committee met Feb. 13.

Meeting Convened at: 9:18 p.m.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
The minutes of the January 23, 2020 meeting were approved as presented.
REPORT & RECOMMENDATION NEW STREETLIGHT BANNER PROGRAM
DISCUSSION:
Mr. Cage reported the Streetscape Committee approved revisions to the banner designs along Wood Dale Road and Irving Park Road. He showed some of the options for various holidays and seasons. Ald. Catalano inquired about having the American Flag on banners. Ald. Messina asked about banners to honor certain veterans in town that were previously discussed. Mr. Cage responded that they can ask for another design to be included in the rotation. Grant Paplauskas stated that the color ones would be intermixed with advertising banners and the Veteran’s recognition ones would be eventually added on to take place of the advertising banners. Staff is planning to get them displayed using patriot colors and adding to the original rotation as the program proceeds. The total cost for 335 banners with brackets and to change out storage is $37,015.00.
VOTE:
Ald. Susmarski made a motion, seconded by Ald. Messina, to approve adopting the new Streetlight Banner Program as is with fine tuning later and adding the Wood Dale Hometown Heroes in a not to exceed amount of $40,000.
A roll call vote was taken, with the following results:
Ayes: Ald. Messina, Sorrentino, Susmarski & Woods
Nays: Ald. Catalano & E. Wesley
Abstained: None
Motion: Carried
