Analysis: Carol Stream pays $2.88 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Carol Stream FPD Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 74.9 percent of the $1,854,743 the Carol Stream FPD Firefighters Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $2.88 for every $1 from pension members, according to a DuPage Policy Journal analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Carol Stream contributed $1,388,658 to the fund, which saw a $816,848 decrease in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $480,739, or 25.9 percent, in 2018.
