Analysis: West Chicago pays $1.70 for every $1 pensioners contribute to West Chicago FPD Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 63.1 percent of the $1,032,330 the West Chicago FPD Firefighters Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $1.70 for every $1 from pension members, according to a DuPage Policy Journal analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, West Chicago contributed $651,021 to the fund, which saw a $38,999 decrease in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $381,309, or 36.9 percent, in 2018.
