Analysis: Winfield pays $1.71 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Winfield FPD Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 58.6 percent of the $318,501 the Winfield FPD Firefighters Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $1.71 for every $1 from pension members, according to a DuPage Policy Journal analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Winfield contributed $186,784 to the fund, which saw a $32,893 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $108,781, or 34.2 percent, in 2018. Another $22,936 came from other unspecified sources.
