Illinois State House District 48 issued the following announcement on June 16.

State Rep. Terra Costa Howard, D-Glen Ellyn, wants constituents to know about two new COVID-19 testing sites now available to DuPage County residents, and she urged them to get tested promptly if they have symptoms or think they may have been exposed.

“The threat of the COVID-19 pandemic continues,” Costa Howard said. “Increased testing capacity and access to testing remain crucial to fighting this deadly infection. These new testing sites will make it easier for local residents to get tested for COVID-19, protect their own health, and help keep this disease from spreading further.”

A drive-up testing site is operating Tuesday through Saturday at the DuPage County Complex in Wheaton (entrance on County Farm Road, just north of Roosevelt Road). Testing is available from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.; the site may close earlier if it reaches its daily limit of 400 tests. Testing is free and available to all, whether or not you have symptoms of COVID-19. Residents must remain in their vehicles and will be tested through an open window. No appointments are required.

Drive-up testing also is available two days a week at Anne M. Jeans Elementary School, at 16W631 91st St. in Willowbrook. The test site is open from 9 a.m. to noon on Tuesdays and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursdays. Appointments are required and insurance will be billed. Testing is limited to people who have been exposed to COVID-19, first responders, health care workers, and people who are at high risk for severe complications from the disease.
