Congressional candidate Jeanne Ives (R-Wheaton) has earned the support of Republican National Committeewoman for Illinois Demetra DeMonte in Ives' 6th District run against U.S. Rep. Sean Casten (D-Downers Grove).
In addition to DeMonte, Ives, who formerly served six years as state representative in the 42nd District and narrowly lost out to then-Gov. Bruce Rauner in the 2018 Republican primary, also has the backing of the House Freedom Caucus, the Illinois Republican Congressional delegation and Rich Porter, Illinois Republican National Committeeman.
“I am greatly honored to have the support of Demetra Demonte, Rich Porter and congressional Republicans in this race,” Ives said in a press release. “We have all spent our careers working to advance liberty and free-market policy solutions. I look forward to working with them toward our common goal of defeating Sean Casten and the Crony Socialist policies he brought with him to congress.”
