Q1 2019 Recap: Parolees in Elmhurst convicted of crimes involving alcohol

There were two offenders convicted of crimes involving alcohol released on parole in Elmhurst during the first quarter, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the DuPage Policy Journal.

The data shows that both of the released offenders in Elmhurst were men. The younger parolee was a 38-year-old man sentenced in 2019. The other was a 55-year-old man sentenced in 2018.

The offender who was incarcerated the longest was Mario Chiaramonte. He was convicted of a crime involving alcohol in 2018 when he was 54 years old. He is now 55.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
