The price of local government in 2017: Lisle Township

The Lisle Township budget was $7.50 million for its 2017 fiscal year.

That's an increase of 6.9 percent from 2016, when the township spent $7.02 million.

Lisle Township has a population of 116,000.

Since 2001, the Lisle Township budget has grown by 8.8 percent, from $6.89 million. The township population has fallen 1.4 percent over the same period, from 117,604.

Salaries accounted for 24.2 percent of township spending in 2017. Lisle Township property taxpayers paid $1.82 million for 27 full-time employees and 20 part-time employees.
