Yadav Nathwani appointed to state senate

Yadav “Nick” Nathwani, a Republican trustee for Milton Township, has been appointed state senator for the 24th District.

He will serve the remainder of the term of Chris Nybo, which runs through early January, when the 101th Illinois General Assembly will be formally sworn in.

“Yadav will be a great state senator for the 24th District during the upcoming veto session,” said Brian Krajewski, DuPage County GOP chairman, who made up the Selection Committee with Christine Cook, a Lyons Township GOP committeewoman, in a press release. “As a Milton Township trustee, Yadav knows the difficult issues facing west-suburban residents.”

The 35-year-old Nathwani has been a Milton Township trustee for five years. He served on the Glenbard High School District 87 board, and he has been a DuPage GOP precinct committeeman and DuPage Young Republicans member for nearly a decade.

A resident of Glen Ellyn, Nathwani is chief financial officer and treasurer of Professional Paving and Concrete Company, Inc.

The 24th Senate District primarily sits in DuPage County and has some precincts in Cook County,
