With less than a week left before voters go to the polls, West Chicago House state candidate Karina Villa received another $900,044 from Illinois House Speaker and Democrat Party Chief Michael Madigan (D-Chicago) between Oct. 18 and Oct. 26, state filings show.

The Madigan funding was disclosed in reports filed with the Illinois State Board of Elections (ISBE) by Citizens For Karina Villa, the campaign committee that supports Villa's race against Republican Tonia Khouri in the 49th House District.

The district covers all or part of Batavia, Elgin, Geneva, Hanover, Naperville, St. Charles, Wayne and Winfield.

Madigan, the Illinois Democratic Party and the Democratic County Chairman’s Association of Illinois. In all, Madigan has contributed $1.44 million to the candidate’s campaign this election cycle.

Madigan spent $6.5 million on 24 candidates between Oct 18 and Oct 30, according to the Illinois State Board of Elections. He has spent $15.84 million backing campaigns for 25 candidates this election cycle, thus far.
