Mazzochi blast candidate as Madigan's puppet during press conference
State Rep. Deanne Mazzochi (R-Elmhurst) argues that Illinois Democratic gubernatorial candidate J.B. Pritzker is nothing more than a pawn of House Speaker Mike Madigan (D-Chicago).
"J.B. Pritzker says that he won't commit to the rates, that he's going to take from our social service workers, our teachers, our farmers, truck drivers, doctors, business owners, and the rest of the middle class, because he needs to work with the legislature," Mazzochi (R-Elmhurst) said during a recent press conference with state Republican lawmakers. "And again, we know what that means — Pritzker puppet, Madigan master. JB's commercials, that Madigan-Pritzker tax hike, is only going to hit the billionaire class, is a flat lie."
Mazzochi chaired the DuPage College Board of Trustees prior to her appointment to the State House last month to replace Deputy House Minority Leader Patricia R. Bellock, who resigned to become director of the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services.
Mazzochi faces Democrat Jim Caffrey in her bid for a full term for the 47th District seat in November's general election.
The 47th district is located within Cook and DuPage counties and includes all or parts of Elmhurst, Oak Brook, Oakbrook Terrace, Western Springs, Clarendon Hills, Hinsdale, Westmont and Downers Grove.
