A single gas station in cities throughout DuPage County had the cheapest midgrade gas in week ending July 18

The lowest reported price for midgrade gas in DuPage County was $3.87 per gallon during the week ending July 18, available at one gas station, according to customer reports submitted to GasBuddy.

The county registered an average of $4.68 per gallon for midgrade gas.

Of the 260 reported gas stations located within DuPage County, 195 offered midgrade gas.

For comparison, the average price of midgrade gas in Illinois was $4.69 per gallon for the week ending July 18, up from the previous week.

The decline followed a volatile spring in energy markets, when analysts linked higher gasoline and diesel prices to rising crude oil prices and concerns about supply disruptions tied to the conflict involving Iran and the Strait of Hormuz.

The U.S. Energy Information Administration said gasoline prices continue to react to both international oil markets and domestic fuel supply conditions. Analysts monitoring the energy market have pointed to refinery utilization rates, U.S. crude oil inventories, OPEC+ production policies and seasonal driving demand as factors influencing fuel costs in 2026, particularly during periods of refinery outages or shipping disruptions affecting global oil supplies.

Gas price data reflects cash payments. Some stations may charge higher prices for credit card transactions due to processing fees, though such surcharges are prohibited in some states and territories.
