Westmont Police Department issued the following announcement on July 12.
“The National Night Out provides law enforcement with an opportunity to coordinate outreach in which Police Officers can interact with the residents they serve to foster a strong relationship,” says Westmont Police Department Deputy Chief Brian Gruen.
This year, the Westmont Police Department National Night Out Event will be held on Thursday, August 2, 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. as part of the Westmont Street Fair and Cruisin’ Nights. The event will be held on Cass Avenue in downtown Westmont.
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. Most cities and towns celebrate National Night Out by hosting block parties, festivals, parades, cookouts and other various community events with safety demonstrations, seminars, youth events, visits from emergency personnel and exhibits.
The event will feature food, music and fun. For more information, contact Deputy Chief Brian Gruen at bgruen@westmont.il.gov or 630-981-6340.
