CITY OF ELMHURST: Rain + Heat = Mosquitoes

Mosquito998

City of Elmhurst issued the following announcement on July 12.

We are aware of an increase in mosquito populations around Elmhurst. The recent rains and high heat has created a floodwater mosquito superbrood of these aggressive mosquitoes. Our adult mosquito control efforts are ongoing, with our last treatments taking place on June 26th. Crews will be conducting additional adult mosquito control operations over the next week to interrupt this breeding cycle.

What You Can Do

    * Drain any standing water around your home

    * Report unusual standing water areas from recent rains to the Mosquito Hotline: 800-942-2555

    * Wear CDC-recommended repellent when mosquitoes are active between dusk and dawn.
