Lisle Police Department issued the following announcement on May 3.
Join the Lisle Police Department and Public Works Department at an Open House and ‘Touch a Truck’ event on Thursday, May 17, 2018, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Lisle Police Department, 5040 Lincoln Avenue.
Participants can learn about Public Works operations including street maintenance, drinking water system, sewer systems and forestry operations. Vehicles and equipment will be available for kids (and adults) to see and climb in including a snow plow truck, excavator and end loaders.
Take a tour of the Police Department and see the jail, evidence lab and emergency operations center; view Police Department vehicles; experience a Police ‘use of force’ demonstration’; view an evidence lab demo and SWAT and K-9 demonstrations; learn about the Illinois State Police rollover accident simulator and child ID information; and find out more about community partners such as Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) and One Light Self Defense.
This event is kid friendly, and children of all ages are welcome to attend and enjoy a bounce house, giant slide, giveaways and more!
