CITY OF NAPERVILLE FIRE DEPARTMENT: Firefighters Battle Structure Fire on 20 Block of W. Bailey Road

City of Naperville Fire Department issued the following announcement on April 27.

At 7:57 PM on Friday evening 04/27/18, Naperville’s Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) received a 911 call for the report of smoke and fire in the single-family residence located in the 20 block of West Bailey Road. Naperville 911(PSAP) dispatched a General Alarm assignment to the reported address which brought 10 pieces of fire apparatus and 24 fire personnel to the scene.

The first unit arrived on scene at 8:00 PM and reported smoke and fire showing from the residence of a single-family structure. Fire attack was initiated by the first-arriving engine and medic unit. The fire was located in the rear exterior of the structure and extended to the attic and roof. Upon the arrival of additional fire companies, additional hose lines were deployed to the attic, the fire was extinguished, a search of the residence was completed, salvage and overhaul operations were performed. No civilian injuries were reported. An inspector from Naperville’s Transportation Engineering and Development (TED) was also notified. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation and the residence was deemed uninhabitable.

The Naperville Fire Department was assisted on the scene by the Naperville Police Department, Naperville Electric Department, Naperville Water Department, Nicor and the American Red Cross. The Plainfield Fire Protection District, Lisle Woodridge Fire Protection District, Bolingbrook Fire Department and the Wheaton Fire Department provided coverage for Naperville fire stations during this incident. There were no injuries to firefighters working on the scene.
