Lisle vehicle repair, service staff honored for accreditation efforts

Mechanic

Lisle's Public Works Fleet Services staff has again earned the National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence’s (ASE) Blue Seal of Excellence, an honor distinguishing repair and service staff for high levels of accreditation, according to a press release.

The fleet services staff of four employees has nearly 100 years of collective experience in automotive and truck service and repair. Three staff members have earned the ASE’s master certification in the automotive and medium/heavy truck classes, which means they are certified in eight service categories.

To earn the Blue Seal recognition, at least 75 percent of an organization’s staff must be certified technicians, including at least one technician in each service category offered. To maintain its Blue Seal, fleet services must renew their status every year.

Repair and service technicians can earn accreditation by passing at least one exam from the ASE and providing the institute with proof that they have been working in the field for at least two years. Those who are already certified must renew their status every five years.
