Village of Winfield Committee of the Whole met June 15.

Here is the minutes provided by the Committee:

President Spande. Clerk Mareacher, Trustee Greer, Trustee Hogan, Trustee Longacre, Trustee McCurdy, Trustee Mustes

Winfield Part-time Police Officer and Volunteers in Police Service programs presentation-

The purpose of the part-time officer position was to supplement and assist the regular sworn officers in their duties. The part-time officer would work approximately 20 hours per week and would maintain certificates of completion from the part-time police officer training as well as CPR certification, and a driver license. It was further discussed that the Police Department was authorized to hire 5 part-time positions which are currently being recruited.

VIPS is the Winfield Volunteers in Police Service, VIPS is a locally driven initiative created by George Bush after 9/11. VIPS can perform administrative duties, such as data entry, and report writing for the police department. They also perform citizen patrols for Farmers Markets, home vacation checks, hazard condition checks, search and rescues, victim assistance, disaster response, special events, crime prevention programs, and finger printing. The Trustees discussed the age range of the volunteers and the uniforma for the VIPS volunteers as well as their equipment.

The Chief discussed that citizens interested in the program should visit the Village Web Site and apply online.

Presentation of the 4th Quarter Financial Report-

Finance Director Lynn McCammon discussed the 4" Quarterfinancial report. She discussed the special census process that was completed and the Village's new population count of 9,820. She further discussed the cash and investments that the Village maintains, the General Fund, the tax revenues and the CDH grant fund,

There were no Requests for future Committee of the Whole items

Motion:

At 7:55pm Trustee Greer made the motion and Trustee Mustes seconded the motion to adjourn the meeting. All the Trustees voted in favor and the motion passed.
