Former Lake Park coach charged with sexual assault, abuse

A former Lake Park High School teacher and coach could be sentenced to between 27 and 97 years in prison if convicted of sexual assault and abuse against a student, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Jared Wissmiller of Downers Grove was a math teacher and coach for girls' basketball and cross country in the school's Roselle location. He has been charged with six counts of felony criminal sexual assault and one count of felony aggravated criminal sexual abuse. He is in custody in lieu of $75,000 bail. 

The investigation was headed by the DuPage County Children's Center. The abuse allegedly took place between June and September of 2015.

The identity of the student has not been released, but reports indicate it was a 15-year-old student at the school.
