Village of Villa Park to hold special meeting on Ridge Road water main improvement project

Village of Villa Park will hold a special meeting at  7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 12.

Ridge Road Water Main Improvement Project & Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program

2. Project overview

The proposed 2017 Ridge Road Water Main Improvement Project consists of the replacement of the existing four-inch (4”) water main on West Ridge Road from Yale Avenue to Ardmore Avenue with approximately 1,200 lineal feet of new eight-inch (8”) ductile iron water main. The project would also include the replacement of all existing water services, valves and fire hydrants, as well as all necessary restoration work.

3. Grant program overview

The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program, which is provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and administered locally by the DuPage County Community Development Commission (CDC), could provide funding for up to seventy-five percent (75%) of eligible construction costs if awarded. With respect to the proposed 2017 Ridge Road Water Main Improvement Project, the Village is requesting that the CDBG Program provide funding in the amount of $384,000, out of the estimated $512,000 total cost of construction.

The Villa Park Village Hall is subject to the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. An elevator is operational at the north side entrance to the Village Hall during normal work hours and also during evenings. Individuals with special needs are requested to contact the Village’s Compliance Officer at (630) 834-8525 so that reasonable accommodations can be made for those persons.
