Lisle Village Board considers disaster recovery grant at recent meeting

Lisle

The Village of Lisle, Illinois Board of Trustees moved forward on the resolution to authorize a community block grant for disaster recovery, establishing an agreement between the village and DuPage County, during its regular meeting on March 7.

The board also agreed on a tax abatement procedure for 2015, which would allow the village to pay the principal and interest on $6,420,000 worth of general obligation bonds.

Mike McMahan, Vice President of AMI Deployment, explained the process and timing for the installation of smart meters within the village. McMahan explained that the overall project to install the meters in the entire service area is about 50 percent complete. Customers in Lisle should see the meters being installed this fall.

There were a number of zoning variance reviews, as well as the recognition of area liquor license applications.

The board also agreed to move ahead with a proposed downtown parking study. The study will be funded through a grant from the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP).
