St. Charles Housing Commission to discuss land trust Thursday night

The St. Charles Housing Commission will receive an update on the exploratory process for the Community Land Trust during its regular meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday in the St. Charles Municipal Center Committee Room, 2 E. Main St.

The commission also will discuss program and project ideas to improve housing in the St. Charles community.

After Thursday’s meeting, the commission will convene again at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 18.

The St. Charles Housing Commission is responsible for preserving the village's existing affordable housing, promoting public awareness of the need for affordable housing, and encouraging and guiding market forces to build new homes and maintain/increase the availability of attainable/affordable housing. It consists of nine members, each serving a three-year term. The commission meets on the third Thursday of each month.
