Warrenville Zoning Board to consider equestrian business's request Thursday

Warrenville2

Highlighted by a public hearing on a proposed amendment regarding therapeutic equestrian services, the Warrenville Plan Commission/Zoning Board of Appeals will hold its first meeting of 2016 at 7 p.m. Thursday at City Hall, 28W701 Stafford Place.

The commission will hear a report from Glen Drive South/Friends for Therapeutic Equine Activities regarding a request for an amendment to the Zoning Ordinance to define and add “therapeutic equestrian facility" to the list of special uses in the residential zoning districts.

Several other zoning issues and appeals are scheduled for review -- including a request for a variance on a yard setback to demolish an existing home and build a new one at 28W517 Riverview Drive -- as well as the final reports and recommendations from 2015.

New business includes the swearing in of Bob Pepple, who is filling the Ward 3 Zoning Board of Appeals position for a five-year term.

The commission vice chair and zoning board vice chair also will be elected.
