The City of Elmhurst, Illinois, is looking for individuals to help conduct an updated population count.

The Census Bureau pays census takers $14.84 per hour, plus travel time, mileage and paid training. Census takers are asked to work a minimum of 20 hours each week, primarily during the evenings and weekends.

This new count will help the city qualify for state revenues to provide essential services such as public safety, street repair, services for seniors and other important activities.

The census will last three to four weeks; hiring preference is given to Elmhurst residents.

Positions will remain open until filled. Those interested are asked to submit an application to the City of Elmhurst City Hall, Finance Department, 1st floor, 209 N. York, or review the requirements at www.census.gov.

For more information, call 630-530-3017 or email census@elmhurst.org.
