Warrenville police to present check at Illinois Law Enforcement Special Olympics Torch Run

On Sunday, June 7, the Warrenville Police Department will be presenting a check during the Illinois Law Enforcement Special Olympics Torch Run.

Last week, Warrenville police officers took part in a statewide "Cop on Rooftop" fundraising event to benefit Special Olympics Illinois (SOI). Funds raised at the event will be presented to SOI representatives by Mayor David Brummel and Police Chief Turano during the Warrenville leg of the run, which will begin 8:30 a.m.

The one-third mile run will start at the corner of IL RT 59 and Batavia Road and finish in front of city hall between roughly 8:46 and 8:55 a.m., when the check will be presented.

Those interested in participating in the run should contact either Deputy Chief Jeff Jacobson or Officer Teresa McBride at the police department.
