Clarendon Hills approves electric aggregation contract extension

Clarendonhills

The village of Clarendon Hills has approved a four-month extension of its current electric aggregation contract with Constellation at 7.15 cents per kilowatt hour, starting June 1.

The extension results in savings below the ComEd rate of 7.562 cents per kilowatt hour, but can float 0.5 cents in either direction. Residents and small businesses have seen over $625,000 in savings since the program began in 2013.

After the ComEd rates are announced in June, the village plans to rebid electric rates in the hope of securing a lower rate beginning in October. Residents will continue to receive their bill from ComEd.

Those with questions about the program should contact Zach Creer, assistant to the village manager, at 630-286-5402 or by email at zcreer@clarendonhills.us.
