Giving DuPage will host the fourth annual The Human Race 5K Run & 2-Mile Fitness Walk on Saturday, April 25 at 9 a.m. at The Esplanade at Locust Point in Downers Grove.

"The DuPage Human Race is one of those special events that families, companies and community groups come together to celebrate their favorite charity," Giving DuPage Board president Paul Feith said. "Every year we enjoy a great turnout and people leave this event feeling good about the amazing work being done by these local charities."

The purpose of The Human Race is to bring people together to support various charities that serve DuPage County. This year's event will support a total of 66 different charities, and participants can choose a charity to receive the donation from their race registration fee. There's also an option for entrants to raise additional funds for their organization.

In its first three years, the race has attracted 3,600 participants who have raised more than $175,000 for local charities.
