Dupage Care Center leads Du Page County nursing homes with highest capacity in Q1 2026
During the first quarter of 2026, Dupage Care Center was recognized as the largest nursing home in Du Page County, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) reported.
The data indicates that the facility offered 366 available beds, which is 216 more than the average for nursing homes in Du Page County as of the first quarter of 2026. The center served an average of 213.9 residents during that timeframe.
CMS gave Dupage Care Center an overall rating of 5 out of 5, surpassing the statewide average rating of 2.6 for Illinois nursing homes.
West Suburban Nursing & Rehab Center held the second spot for size in Du Page County this quarter with 259 beds, while Meadowbrook Manor - Naperville was third with a bed count of 249.
Dupage Care Center did not receive any fines or penalties in the first quarter of 2026.

Estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau show the older adult population is increasing as younger groups decrease. From 2020 to 2024, the number of Americans aged 65 and older grew by 13%, while those under 18 dropped by 1.7%. The country’s older population has expanded significantly over the last century, climbing from 4.9 million in 1920 to over 61 million in 2024.
Research published in 2021 found that almost half of Americans age 65 and up, or around 28 million people, are likely to need long-term services and supports. The study also estimates over one-third could require nursing home care at some point.
“Living a long life is something that many of us want and could get,” said Jesse Slome, executive director of the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance, an insurance education group. “But when we live a long life, the chances of us needing long-term care increase exponentially. But when you need that type of care, there are limited options.”
