The Seize the Future Development Foundation is now accepting proposals for the redevelopment of the former Elks Club Building at 77 S. Stolp Ave. in downtown Aurora.
"The former Elks Building ... has a historical significance to Aurora," Mayor Tom Weisner said. "It will also play a pivotal role in the continued revitalization of downtown Aurora as a center for arts, entertainment and culture. As a city, we are looking forward to partnering with Seize the Future and development firms interested in being part of the transformation taking place in downtown Aurora.”
A pre-bid meeting is scheduled for 1 p.m. March 17.
After the pre-bid meeting, developers and redevelopment groups will have until 4 p.m. April 28 to submit proposals.
The proposals will be reviewed by Seize the Future staff and board members. The strongest proposal will be submitted to the city.
"It's a great building with incredible potential," David Hulseberg, president/CEO of Seize the Future Development Foundation, said. “We’d like to see a market-driven adaptive reuse project come into the building."
