Q4 2020 Recap: 11 parolees from DuPage County convicted of crimes involving weapons set for release
There were 11 offenders convicted of crimes involving weapons released on parole in DuPage County during the fourth quarter of 2020, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the DuPage Policy Journal.
The data shows that 10 men and one woman were among the parolees. The median age of the parolees sentenced for crimes involving weapons was 29. The youngest parolee was a 21-year-old man sentenced in 2019, and the oldest was a 44-year-old man sentenced in 2017.
The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Robert Howard. He was convicted in 2013 when he was 19 years old. He is now 27.
Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
