Q4 2018 Recap: Parolees in Downers Grove convicted of crimes involving alcohol
There were three offenders convicted of crimes involving alcohol released on parole in Downers Grove during the fourth quarter, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the DuPage Policy Journal.
The data shows that two men and one woman were among the parolees. The median age of the parolees sentenced for crimes involving alcohol was 48. The youngest parolee was a 32-year-old woman sentenced in 2017, and the oldest was a 65-year-old man sentenced in 2018.
The offender who was incarcerated the longest was Steven J. Beckow. He was convicted of a crime involving alcohol in 2017 when he was 46 years old. He is now 48.
Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
