Q3 2019 Recap: Parolees in Aurora convicted of drug crimes
There were 11 offenders convicted of drug crimes released on parole in Aurora during the third quarter, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the DuPage Policy Journal.
The data shows that 11 men were among the parolees. Of the parolees sentenced for drug crimes, one is a veteran, and the median age is 34. The youngest parolee was a 24-year-old man sentenced in 2018, and the oldest was a 55-year-old man sentenced in 2018.
The offender who was incarcerated the longest was Robert A. Trevino. He was convicted of a crime involving drugs in 2017 when he was 23 years old. He is now 25.
Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
