On Tuesday, April 1, former Downers Grove South High School standout Ella Cushing’s college team won in an NCAA Division I softball game

On Tuesday, April 1, former Downers Grove South High School standout Ella Cushing’s current college team, the Illinois Fighting Illini, won 7-6 in their NCAA Division I softball game against the Western Illinois Leathernecks.

The game took place at Eichelberger Field. This was their first matchup against the Leathernecks this season.

The Fighting Illini’s next game is scheduled for Saturday, April 5 at 2 p.m. at Sharon J. Drysdale Field against Northwestern Wildcats.
