On Sunday, Feb. 23, former Downers Grove North High School standout Ava Gusel’s college team won in an NCAA Division I softball game

On Sunday, Feb. 23, former Downers Grove North High School standout Ava Gusel’s current college team, the DePaul Blue Demons, won 4-2 in their NCAA Division I softball game against the UMass Minutewomen.

The game took place at Boseman Field. This was their first matchup against the Minutewomen this season.

The Blue Demons’ next game is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 28 at 12 p.m. at Debbie & Fred Pruitt Softball Complex against Mount St. Mary's Mountaineers.
