Naperville police respond to 4,096 reported offenses in 2024

Officers from the Naperville Police Department responded to 4,096 reported offenses in 2024, data from the National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS) shows.

This number equates to roughly 11 offenses each day during 2024.

Among the crimes recorded by NIBRS, simple assault was the most frequent, accounting for 956 incidents in 2024.

The NIBRS offers detailed context about crime statistics. Under previous reporting standards, only the most serious offense in a given incident would appear in crime data. For example, if an incident included homicide, aggravated assault and theft, only the homicide would be documented in official statistics.
