Lynch to be inducted into Pro Football Hall of Fame
San Francisco 49ers General Manager John Lynch will be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame this year.
Lynch played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 1993 until 2003 and the Denver Broncos from 2004 until 2007. He is now the general manager for the 49ers and will be included in the class of 2021 to the Pro Football Hall of Fame, according to NBC Sports.
Lynch was a third-round choice in 1993 for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He played in nine Pro Bowls, NBC Sports reported.
Lynch played a total of 224 games and started a total of 191 times. He had a total of 1,054 tackles, 26 interceptions, 13 sacks, eight fumble recoveries, 16 forced fumbles and 100 passes defended. He played for a total of 15 seasons.
Lynch’s father, John Lynch Sr. is from Downers Grove and went to St. Procopius High School, which is now Benet Academy. He graduated from Drake University and played for the Pittsburgh Steelers. John Lynch Sr. was a Chicago Tribune sales executive. The family moved to San Diego when John Lynch Jr. was young. Lynch Jr. was born in Hinsdale, Ill.
