July-Dec. 2018 Recap: Parolees in Aurora convicted of financial crimes or fraud
There were four offenders convicted of financial crimes or fraud released on parole in Aurora during the second half of 2018, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the DuPage Policy Journal.
The data shows that three men and one woman were among the parolees. The median age of the parolees sentenced for financial crimes or fraud was 44. The youngest parolee was a 38-year-old man sentenced in 2018, and the oldest was a 49-year-old man sentenced in 2017.
The offender who was incarcerated the longest was Leslie Gomez. She was convicted of a financial crime or fraud in 2018 when she was 41 years old. She is now 42.
Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
