Jan.-June 2018 Recap: Parolees near Illinois zip code 60133 convicted of property crimes
There were four offenders convicted of property crimes released on parole near Illinois zip code 60133 during the first half of 2018, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the DuPage Policy Journal.
The data shows that three men and one woman were among the parolees. The median age of the parolees sentenced for property crimes was 35. The youngest parolee was a 21-year-old woman sentenced in 2017, and the oldest was a 53-year-old man sentenced in 2017.
The offender who was incarcerated the longest was Avshalom Z. Chayim. He was convicted of a property crime in 2013 when he was 39 years old. He is now 43.
Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
