West Suburban Nursing & Rehab Center ranked No. 2 in Du Page County for bed capacity in Q1 2026

West Suburban Nursing & Rehab Center was recognized as Du Page County's second largest nursing home in the first quarter of 2026, data from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) shows.

The nursing center reported 259 total beds, surpassing the Du Page County average by 109 beds in the first quarter. An average of 204.6 residents received care daily at the facility during that period.

The CMS awarded West Suburban Nursing & Rehab Center an overall rating of 1 out of 5, which is below the 2.6 average among Illinois nursing homes.

During that quarter, Dupage Care Center led the county as the largest nursing home with 366 beds available, while Meadowbrook Manor - Naperville ranked third with 249 beds.

By the first quarter of 2026, West Suburban Nursing & Rehab Center reported no fines or penalties.

There were 31 for-profit nursing homes in Du Page County, Illinois, during this period.

U.S. Census Bureau figures indicate that the older adult population in the country is growing as younger age groups diminish. Between 2020 and 2024, Americans age 65 and older increased by 13%, while the under-18 population declined by 1.7%. The growth in the older adult population has accelerated over the last century, from 4.9 million people in 1920 to over 61 million in 2024.

A 2021 report estimates that nearly half of adults in this age range—approximately 28 million people—will need long-term services and support. More than a third are expected to eventually require nursing home care.

“Living a long life is something that many of us want and could get,” said Jesse Slome, executive director of the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance, an insurance education group. “But when we live a long life, the chances of us needing long-term care increase exponentially. But when you need that type of care, there are limited options.”
