There were two companies in cities associated with DuPage County that received FDA citations as a result of two inspections conducted in the county in September, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

This is a 66.7% decrease from the number of companies cited in the previous month.

The citations in the county include:

  • Your personnel did not use hygienic practices to the extent necessary to protect against contamination of components, dietary supplements, or contact surfaces.
  • You did not use equipment or utensils of appropriate design and that are properly maintained.
  • For component(s) used in the manufacture of a dietary supplement, you did not establish identity specifications and necessary specifications to ensure the specifications for purity, strength, and composition of the dietary supplement are met.

The companies cited were involved in either Food and Cosmetics or Devices sectors.

Both companies cited should take voluntary actions to correct their managing operations.

The FDA routinely inspects facilities across the nation to determine if the workplace and their products are compliant with FDA-regulated laws and regulations implemented to improve overall public health. Inspection results are then disclosed publicly.
