Stephanie Trussell, a candidate for Illinois House District 42, commented on Turning Point USA's AmericaFest 2025 event, noting that public disagreements among party members detracted from party unity and shared policy priorities.

"TPUSA's Amfest lost its way," said Trussell. "To see Republicans on stage calling out other Republicans was egregious. Most people were not aware of the current infighting. Amfest 2025 wasn't the space to air our differences. They should've focused on Charlie's [Kirk] legacy."

According to Trussell, she posted on X to share her perspective on the gathering. She described Republicans addressing disputes on stage as unsuitable for the venue, highlighting that attendees might not have been aware of ongoing internal issues before the event.

Illinois Republicans convened at the State Fair in 2025 to express confidence in future electoral outcomes. Leaders delivered speeches aimed at motivating members for the 2026 midterms. The gathering served as a platform to reinforce collective goals within the party.

Conservatives at Turning Point USA's AmericaFest in 2025 revealed differences in approaches to movement priorities. Participants discussed topics influencing party alignment on national stages. Polls reflect diverse opinions among Republican supporters throughout the United States.

Trussell is a Republican candidate for the Illinois House of Representatives in District 42. She ran for lieutenant governor in 2022 with Darren Bailey and maintains a presence in media while advocating for principles centered on faith and family.
