Glen Ellyn FD responds to 41 fires in 2017
Glen Ellyn Fire Department responded to 297 calls in 2017 - 12.6 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.
The calls in Glen Ellyn included 41 fires - 13 structure fires, two vehicle fires and 26 other fires. The fire department also responded to one call for ruptures, explosions or overheating.
In all, the department saw $496,860 in fire loss - or about $12,119 per fire.
The department also received 255 false calls, including seven malicious calls and 248 other false calls.
The calls resulted in one civilian fire-related injury.
