Denison Big Red, featuring Violet Mitchell, secures 82-47 win in NCAA Division III opener

Violet Mitchell, a former standout from Downers Grove North High School, helped lead her current team, the Denison Big Red, to an 82-47 victory over the Southern Virginia Knights in the NCAA Division III Basketball Tournament on Friday, March 6.

The matchup, the team's first tournament game against the Southern Virginia Knights, was held at Livingston Gymnasium at 7:30 p.m.

Denison Big Red is scheduled to play again on Saturday, March 7 at 7:30 p.m., once more at Livingston Gymnasium.
