Residents of Darien received information on June 19 about upcoming city services and events, including the next round of the Public Works Branch Pickup Program and the start of the Summer Concert Series.
The City of Darien’s Public Works Branch Pickup Program is scheduled for the week of June 22. The program is free for all single-family homes and provides collection and disposal of branches from residential properties. Residents are asked to stack branches neatly by the curb on Sunday, June 21, to ensure pickup. The chipping crew will make only one pass during the week and may complete some streets as early as Monday morning. Branches can also be dropped off from May 1 until October 31 at the Municipal Services Facility at 1041 S. Frontage Road, Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Questions can be directed to Regina Kokkinis in the Municipal Services Department at 630-353-8105.
The city also announced the beginning of its Summer Concert Series, which will start on Thursday, June 25, at 6:00 p.m. at Carriage Greens. The event will feature a performance by FUZE, and food from local restaurants will be available for purchase. Our Lady of Mount Carmel will be accepting donations of cleaning supplies and canned goods during the event. Mayor Joe Marchese and the Darien City Council encouraged residents to attend, connect with elected officials, and enjoy the community gathering.
