The Benedictine University baseball team opened play at the NACC Tournament by falling to third-seeded MSOE.

THE DETAILS
• MSOE opened the scoring in the top of the first, taking advantage of back-to-back two-out walks to take a 1-0 lead on an RBI double
• Benedictine left four on base through the first three innings
• The lead reached 2-0 in the fifth on a squeeze play
• Benedictine responded with a run in the bottom of the inning
• Kyle Williams opened with a walk and Alex Cameron followed with a single
• Ryan Doubek dropped down a sacrifice and Cole WIlson drove home Williams with a sacrifice fly but Benedictine stranded two more
• MSOE put two more on the board in the fifth and pulled away late

STAT LEADERS
• Benedictine stranded 10 men on base, four of which were in scoring position
• The teams split in the regular season
• Benedictine finished with seven hits, three of which came from Damen Castillo, who stayed hot and also drew a walk
• Robbie Dudzinski, the NACC Pitcher of the Year, suffered the loss, striking out 11 in seven innings while allowing four runs

Benedictine (26-12) plays at 1:00 pm on Friday in an elimination game against the loser of Aurora-St. Norbert.
